Louise Dear is a Ph.D. candidate at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford, working on human rights and Islamic law in the UK. She formerly worked as research associate for the United Nations Development Programme in Ramallah, as legal intern for the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights in Gaza, and as research assistant for the Women’s Protection Unit of the Human Rights Commission in Kabul.
